Overview
A centralised content management platform developed by Frontwalker to manage multiple websites - including Sri Lanka's foreign embassy and mission sites- through a single administrative interface. Built on a scalable architecture with secure data isolation, it enables authorized users to efficiently create, edit, and publish content while ensuring complete tenant-level data separation. The platform is designed for scalability, security, and ease of use for non-technical users.
Challenges
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment & Tourism - Sri Lanka, faced critical operational and digital presence issues across its global mission network:
- Fragmented mission websites - Each mission had separate, independently maintained websites, leading to inconsistent branding, duplication of effort, and high IT overhead.
- Complex user management - Managing users and permissions across different diplomatic tenants was difficult and prone to errors.
- Inefficient content workflows - Content creation, approval scheduling, and publishing lacked a unified process.
- Data isolation risks - Ensuring strict separation of tenant data was not reliably achievable with existing systems.
- Limited scalability & integration - Existing setups could not efficiently grow to accommodate new missions or connect with external tools and services.
- Security gaps - No centralized protection
- No booking or consular service management - No integrated online appointment system for consular services like visas and passports.
Our Approach
- Centralised multi-tenant architecture - A single Super Admin dashboard at the Ministry level, with localised admin access for each mission.
- Role-based access control (RBAC) - Defined user roles with controlled permissions and secure access management across all tenants.
- Multilingual support - Full support for Sinhala, Tamil, English, and host-country languages, implemented without Google Translate.
- Online Booking System - Multi-step appointment booking for consular services (Visa, Passport, Birth Registration, etc.) with real-time slot availability, dynamic slot adjustments, and bulk email notifications.
- Security & compliance - End-to-end encryption, GDPR-compliant data handling, regular security audits, EDR/XDR threat detection, centralised cloud backups with 4-hour disaster recovery, and SLCERT compliance.
- Ministry website revamp - A fully redesigned, modern, service-focused website with a prominent news slider, consular service sections, multilingual content, social sharing, and a refreshed admin panel.
- Content management tools - Audit trails, version history, approval workflows, scheduled publishing, and visibility toggles.
- Analytics & feedback - AI-powered sentiment analysis of feedback, appointment trend dashboards, and exportable reports.
- Standardised domain structure — Unified URLs for brand cohesion.
